We're the party

Night Kings 'Increasing Our High' (1992)
After the demise of Seattle's Nights and Days, Rob Vasquez fired up a new trio of talented bums. A little less mod, a little more trash garage punk, perhaps high as kites. If you have any problems, go see the complaints dept for more info. Why not buy this (cheap!)?

Puget Power!

Puget Power Volumes 1-4 7"s (1990-1993)
Here we have a series of compilation singles documenting the non-"grunge" underground (well, a few of the bands are kinda grungy) happening in the northwest in the early 90's. Typical of most comps, there's some good stuff and some not so good. These were released on the Regal Select label which put out quite a few discs before apparently going out of business, in part due to a lawsuit brought by the Regal Select brewing company. Sort of ironic since many of these bands were probably swilling their product! RS 7"ers were very limited and occasionally pre-released with funky hand-made covers.
Spinnin' discs o' fire:
Volume 1 (Fall-Outs, Mono Men, Nights and Days, Sugar Sugar)
Volume 2 (Gas Huffer, Derelicts, Yummy, Alcoholics Unanimous)
Volume 3 (Calamity Jane, Rancid Vat, Mudhoney, Night Kings)
Volume 4 (Sinister Six, Head, Statics, Flathead)

Night and Day

Nights and Days 'These Days' 7" (1989)
Second single from Seattle's immortal Nights and Days (their first 45 was in my first post here at thee head vein), and it's a killer. Crank it up!

Solid Garbage Can Action...

We'll start things off with a couple of Seattle items:

U-Men 'Solid Action' 7" (1986)
This has been posted over at Last Days... along with their 'Freezebomb' single (and a Crows 7"). Great frenzied rock featuring future Gas Huffer and Crows members. Read more about them here. This single was put out by the good folks at Fallout Records. Go buy the 'Solid Action' CD.

Nights and Days 'Garbage Can' 7" (1988)
A garage mod classic that came out around the dawn of grunge. Rob Vasquez has created many great bands since: The Night Kings, Gorls, The Chintz Devils, Right On and most recently Nice Smile.
Nights and Days info can be found right here.
