Skunk, sonically speaking!

MC5 'Babes In Arms' (1983)
Originally released on the cassette-only label ROIR, this collection of rare outtakes, alt. mixes and other assorted odds and ends is still one of my favorite MC5 releases. The version of "Shakin' Street" on here blew my mind way back when and continues to, even now. Gotta keep moving!

MC5 'Kick Out The Jams' (1969)
39 years ago today Rob Tyner shouted out to the Grande Ballroom brothers and sisters, "Kick out the jams, motherfuckers!" and the rest, as they say, is history. R.I.P. Rob Tyner and Fred "Sonic" Smith.

MC5 'Back In The U.S.A.' (1970)
It's true this album doesn't have the sonic power of their other two "official" releases, but it's still got lots of great songs. Just turn up the bass and volume to the maximum and let it ride over you like a human being lawnmower.
