Swampwater Mop Down!

Doo Rag 'Hussy Bowler' (1993), 'Swampwater Mop Down' (1994), 'Trudge' (1995) 7"s
The (Blues?) duo Doo Rag plays music from another century, although it's hard to tell if it's from the distatnt past or the faraway future. They wail through instruments constructed out of vacuum cleaners and gramophones and beat on anything but drums. Listen to these recordings and experience Doo Rag's gritty, almost haphazzard style!
-from the cover of 'Swampwater Mop Down'
Does anyone have their 'Two Tones To Tune' 7" they'd like to share?
Meanwhile, slip on over to youtube an' watch trudge.

Here we have yet another instance of a "I-haven't-heard-this-before-patrolling-theeheadvein-for-goodies" discovery. Words fail, and very badly, to describe this thingthang called Doo Rag. The music is so...original (that's one of the words that just doesn't begin to approximate a proper description for this band). From instrumentation and arrangment, down to recording and mic'ing techniques. Incredibly ingenious...totally and utterly original...crusty/bayou/distant/skin/metallic/bang/shimmy music. Another word that fails is thanks, for this (enter your pile of adjectives to describe Doo Rag here). Check this out!
