The Screaming Trees 'Even If and Especially When' (1987)
The Trees debut album on SST "is the proverbial quantum leap where the band discovered its voice. Dropping the baby fat (well, some of it) without compromising the trademark garagey roar, the band hit on a sound it would gradually refine on each successive release. (It) sounds like an album made by guys who had just turned 20 — which they actually had." - Trouser Press

cripes hdvns, previous post asked if you do requests. well im not trying to endear myself to you. youve done enough to me already, but i remember fondly a "stranglers" offshoot with somebody from captain beefheart's (shiny beast era?) band putting out a LP under the moniker "nosferatu", not a hundred percent on that spelling, but it had the silent vamp. on the cover anyway. and if ya can ya can, if ya cant ya cant(jerry reed). also thanks for the "trees". that ones a milky dream!
Sorry, can't help you with this one, but there is some info on this over at Trouser Press:
