Galaxie 500 'Today' (1988)
The records of Galaxie 500 are like a fine set of waves: coming from far off, building up and up, curling, smoothly crashing in climax... and they just keep coming...
Here's their first longplayer, probably my favorite, in all it's reverberating, Kramer-produced, Wareham-whining glory. Don't let it go to waste!

Nice!
My Dean Wareham's favourite is "penthouse" by Luna, though.
Galaxie 500 rules (taken from a car-series, should I say it runs?)

Outstanding record. Everyone should this to this repeatedly. Then at night play "On Fire." Unfortunately, no one should be forced to listen to "This Is Our Music."

Please replace the first "this" with the word "listen" where appropriate. Thank you.

I agree with you about 'On Fire', but what's wrong with 'This Is Our Music'?

Cheers!

Love all 3 of theirs. I saw them many times in the 80's in Boston area. Once they played at the now defunkt Nightstage (excellent place once upon a time where you could see Lush, Mekons, Screamin' Jay Hawkins, Kristin Hersh and Dr. John! all in one week) and there was a lesbian disco in the basement. Needless to say it did not mesh well with their velvetisms! Hilarious though....Beautiful blog!!!
